From 2010 to 2018, Julie Chen served as a co-host of “The Talk” and is best known as the anchor of the CBS reality series “Big Brother” (2000–present). Julie and Les Moonves, the former CBS CEO and chairman, have been married since 2004. She departed “The Talk” after his s*xual harassment controversy.

In addition, Chen worked as a producer for ABC NewsOne early in her career and was a co-anchor on “The Early Show” on CBS from 2002 until 2010. Julie Suzanne Chen was given the name Julie Chen on January 6, 1970 in Queens, New York. David Chen and Wang Ling Chen, her parents, immigrated from China. Growing childhood, Julie had two older sisters named Gladys and Victoria. Julie enrolled St. Francis Preparatory School. After graduating from high school in 1987, Chen went on to study at the University of Southern California, where she earned a double bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and English in 1991.

Career

Julie worked as an intern at CBS Morning News in 1990, copying faxes and taking phone calls. Andy Cohen, who would later host the Bravo late-night talk show “Watch What Happens Live,” was another intern with her. At ABC NewsOne, Chen began working as a desk assistant in 1991. She was quickly promoted to producer, where she remained for three years. Julie was a news reporter for WDTN-TV from 1995 until 1997. In 1999, she made a comeback to anchor “CBS Morning News.”
