Josh was raised visiting the South. His parents were antinuclear activists, and he had 3 younger siblings. Until the age of 13, he resided in thirty locations, such as Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms, both in South Carolina. Josh’s mother completed her schooling from Emerson College with an American TV Host Jay Leno. The family settled in Gig Harbor, Washington. He did his schooling at Kopachuck Middle School. In 1989, he did his graduation from Gig Harbor High School, where he used to participate in high school plays.


Josh began his acting career at 19. He moved to Hollywood after his graduation itself. He had a guest appearance on various TV shows during his 20s. He starred in shows like “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose,” “Life Goes On,” and many more. He made his movie debut in Frank Marshall’s Alive, which included a group of rugby players surviving a mountains crash. He appeared in 13 episodes of the series “Snowy River: The McGregor Saga.” After performing in the TV series ‘In the Heat of the Night,’ he took a break from Hollywood and shifted to New York City to study acting. He then played the leading role of Navy Rower in the movie “True Blue.” Then he starred in a comedy film, “The Definite Maybe” playing a role of a college graduate who was fired from his job.

In the comedy-drama “Restless,” he played a role of an American businessman. One of his featured roles was in “Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger” as Jace Flash. In 2011, Josh starred with Rachael Taylor in the movie “Red Dog,” which was based on the true story of a dog, an Australian Kelpie. He was the winner of an Inside Film Award for his performance.
