Early Life

She was born in Los Angeles and California. She was raised Jewish in a single-parent home by her mother, a teacher. She is the daughter of an older brother and a younger sister. At eight years old, she began acting by singing in the elementary school chorus and participating in local theatre productions. After her appearance on Jaywalking in a segment of “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, she became interested in acting.

Her father had ties to a group of friends that included Lice Rock and Rolo Guthrie around the time of Yasmine’s birth.

She was included in a consumer-based commercial advertisement for a model called Cristina Ferrare. She attracted the attention of a fashion photographer by the name of Francesco Scavullo, who later included her and her mother in a book titled Scavullo Women. In the 1980 movie “Hey Babe!”, Bleeth, at 12, was cast in her debut show featured in the role opposite of Buddy Hackett. She appeared in a commercial with the Puerto Rican group Menudo in 1983. She debuted as an adult Ryan Fenelli on the daytime soap opera Ryan’s Hope at the age of 16 and remained in the role through the drama’s final episode on January 13, 1989.

After the 1989 discontinuation of the program, Carina Bleeth, who was Bleeth’s mother, was identified as having breast cancer. She passed away, at the age of 47, &  Bleeth dealt with her sorrow by staying at home and going for walks and cooking shows.


The Baywatch character Caroline Holden played by Bleeth garnered considerable media exposure. In 1995, People magazine recognized her as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People. She was consistently ranked among FHM’s 100 S*xiest Women in the World from 1996 to 2001 and among FHM’s 100 S*xiest Women in the United States from 2000 to 2003. Bleeth received offers for various roles in television & movies as a result of her performance in Baywatch. She has guest appeared in other shows and has been a prominent actress in five series. She kept working as a model throughout her time on television, typically appearing in lingerie or swimwear. She once owned a bikini brand named Yaz Wear.

Inspector Caitlin Cross was a character played by Bleeth on Nash Bridges from 1998 to 2000. In 2000, Bleeth agreed to play the lead in the ill-fated television project Titans. Aaron Spelling’s organization persuaded CBS to release Bleeth early from her Nash Bridges contract because Bleeth was so eager to land the role of a vixen on Titans. She expressed her enjoyment of playing a hysterical “beauty queen” as in the 1997 TV movie Crowned and Dangerous in a conversation with Dennis Hensley. She remarked, “I kept the crown from that movie in a tiny Lucite box on my desk.
