She is remembered for her roles in various films as Terri Michaels in “The Fall Guy” 1982. She also played roles of Christine Sullivan in 1985 in the film “Night Court” and “Georgie Hartman” in 1992 in the film Hearts Afire.

On 4 November 1950, Markie was born in California. Richard Post is her father, a physicist, and her mother, Marylee Post, was a poet. With her two brothers, Markie was raised in Stanford and Walnut Creek. They were Rodney and Stephen. She was a cheerleader at Las Lomas High School and was in a team of the cheerleading squad. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland with a bachelor of arts. In 1971, Markie married Stephen Knox, who was her College classmate. But they got separated in 1972, due to some reasons. In 1982, Markie married Michael Ross. The couple was blessed with two daughters: Daisy Ross and Katie Ross.

Career

Markie completed her schooling at Las Lomas High School and was a cheerleader in that school. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. She began her acting career with Tom Kennedy in the game show “Split Second.” She was also an associate producer of the American Television Game Shows: “Double Dare and Card Sharks.” In November 1987, she helped a participant win a $100,000 prize in a tournament episode. In 1979, she played a role in an episode of “Barnaby Jones,” and “Simon and Simon” in 1981. She also appeared in science fiction series named Buck Rogers in the 25th century. After “The Fall guy,” she appeared in the series “Night court,” playing the role of Christine Sullivan.

In the comedy series “Hearts Afire,” she played the role of Georgie Anne Hartman. In 1998, she starred as Mary’s mother in the film. There’s Something About Mary. Markie also starred in “Visitors in the Night,” which premiered in 1995.  She was a democrat throughout her life. She was nominated for the 2007 TV Land Award and the 2013 BTVA TV Voice Acting Award.
