Thomas Carlyle Ford was born on 27 August 1961 in Texas. He is an American filmmaker and a fashion designer. In 2005, he launched his own brand and earlier served as the Creative Director of Gucci. Tom directed Two Films Nocturnal Animals in 2016 and A Single Man in 2009. He currently is the chairman of the Board of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Tom built a 24,000-acre private property designed in Santa Fe by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. It is named Cerro Pelon Ranch. This ranch has some additional structures which were designed by company Marmol Radziner. The ranch also has an imaginary town named Silverado that can be used for filming.

Thomas Ford was born on 27 August 1961 in Texas. Tom is the son of the real estate broker Shirley Burton and Thomas David Ford. He was raised on the outskirts of Houston, Texas. At the age of six, he used to rearrange furniture in his house and also suggest to his mother about her hair and shoes. gave his mother feedback on her hair and shoes. Tom graduated in the field of architecture from The New School in New York. He used to call Cathy Hardwick, an American designer to secure his job in a sportswear company. For two years, he worked with Hardwick as a design assistant. In the year 1988, Tom shifted to Perry Ellis, an American fashion clothing brand. He knew Robert McDonald, the company’s president, and Marc, the designer personally. He worked there for two years but got tired of American Fashion.
Afterward, he decided to work for the Italian company Gucci, which was financially struggling. He worked there as a brand’s chief women’s ready-to-wear designer. In 1992, Richard left the position of design director and was acquired by Tom. In 1994, Tom was upgraded to Creative Director of Gucci. Between 1995 to 1996, the sales of Gucci increased by 90%. At that time, Tom became the largest shareholder of Gucci stock. He pulled the classic fashion house back into the mainstream.
In 2006, Tom launched his own brand of menswear, eyewear, beauty, and accessories. De Sole was the chairman of the label.
