Biography
Steven Adler is an American musician. He was the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses’ drummer and co-songwriter, and together they enjoyed international success in the late 1980s. After being dismissed from Guns N’ Roses in 1990 due to heroin addiction, Adler revived his previous band, Road Crew, and briefly joined BulletBoys. Adler played drums for the group Adler’s Appetite in the 2000s, and since 2012, he has played drums for the group Adler. Early in 2017, steven announced that the band had been dissolved and that he had no plans to continue playing with them.
Steven cited his lack of interest in playing at shows with a small audience as the reason for this. He appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’s second (2008) and fifth (2011) seasons and the first season of its spinoff, Sober House. As a Guns N’ Roses member, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
Timeline
Early Life
Steven Adler was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Deanna and Michael Coletti. After his father abandoned them, he spent his early years living with his mother. After his mother wed Melvin Adler, they relocated to Los Angeles, California, and he was given the new name Steven Adler. He was raised in the San Fernando Valley until age 13, when he was expelled for misbehaving and forced to live with his grandparents. He met Saul Hudson, better known as Slash in the music industry, while both were students at Bancroft Junior High. After finishing high school and the ninth grade, he returned home to live with his parents. Adler also started practicing the drums and went on auditions. Slash, Adler, and Duff McKagan broke up because they couldn’t find the right vocalist.
Career
In June 1985, Adler joined Guns N’ Roses. They performed in clubs before deciding to deal with Geffen records in 1996. Their self-titled debut album, which sold 28 million copies worldwide in 1997, was a huge hit. After years of involvement in the band, Adler achieved international acclaim in the 1990s as a lyricist for Guns N’ Roses. However, his heroin addiction disrupted his work ethic and musical ability, which led to his expulsion from the band. Adler briefly performed with Road Crew after being fired from Guns N’ Roses. After that, he joined BulletBoys, although neither band could find critical acclaim. After that, Steven created the group “Adler,” which he has been playing in since 2012.
His musical career ended after quitting Guns N’ Roses as drug use worsened. He sued Guns N’ Roses in 1991 because he felt cheated out of royalties for his compositions. He was given a payback of US$ 2,250,000 and 15% royalties for everything done before he left the band once the matter was resolved. Adler took part in the reality TV program ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’ in 2008; however, because of his inappropriate behavior there, he was detained and given a community service punishment.
