In Washington, On December 21, 1948, Samuel Leroy Jackson, the single child of Roy Henry Jackson and Elizabeth Harriett, was born. He was brought up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jackson was someone he had only ever met twice. He was raised by his mother, along with other family members and his maternal grandparents, Pearl and Edgar Montgomery.
