Rosamund Pike is a single child to opera singers Julian Pike and Caroline Friend and was born on January 27, 1979, in London. She went to Badminton School in Bristol, England, where she began acting at National Youth Theatre. She worked in “Romeo and Juliet” while being promoted in National Youth Theater. To complete her education, she went to Wadham College, Oxford, where she graduated in English Literature with an upper second-class honors degree in 2001. She gained stage experience in Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons,” David Hare’s “Skylight,” and several plays by William Shakespeare.
