On September 14, 1973, an African American couple name Fannie Ann and Olu Dara welcomed their son named Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones in the Brooklyn borough of New York. his father was a Mississippi-born jazz and blues artist (born Charles Jones III). When Nas was 16 years old, he went to the recording studio where artists like Rakim and Kool G Rap worked on their records with producer Large Professor. Nas used to enter the recording booth and would record his own music when they weren’t in the studio. But none of it was made public.
