In Brooklyn, New York, Jimmy Kimmel was born on November 13, 1967, to Joan Kimmel, a homemaker, and James John Kimmel, an executive with IBM. Being born and raised as a Roman Catholic, Jimmy assisted as an altar boy at the church as a kid. When Jimmy shifted to Las Vegas, Nevada, with his family when he was nine years old. Kimmel went to Ed W. Clark High School and was a brilliant student. Later on, for a year, Jimmy joined the University of Nevada, where he discovered his urge for radio.

In 1989, Jimmy initially got a job at ‘KZOK-FM’ a Seattle-based radio station, where he co-hosted the show named ‘The Me And Him Show’, though he was out of the show within two months. Later on, Kimmel joined the radio station ‘KROQ’, in Los Angles, where he worked as ‘Jimmy the Sports Guy’ in ‘The Kevin and Bean Show’.
