His mother, Bina House Beghe, died in 2012. He lived with three siblings. He completed his schooling at the Collegiate School, a private school for boys in New York City. He became best friends with actors David Duchovny and John Kennedy. He used to hang out with future celebrities.

Christopher d’Amboise, a dancer, was his other classmate. Kennedy and Jason used to spend time together in Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He lives in Los Angeles, California Jason convinced Duchovny to pursue work in acting. In 1982, he graduated from Pomona College. Francesca Beghe is the sister of Jason.
