David was born in New York’s Saratoga springs. George Pierce, his father was an aspiring actor & mother Laura Marie Pierce was an insurance agent. He was the youngest of four siblings, Barbara and Nancy were two older sisters and Thomas was his older brother. He graduated with a bachelor’s of arts from ‘Saratoga Springs High School’ in the year 1977, then attended ‘Yale University’ and studied a double major in English literature and theatre studies. During his studies at ‘Yale University’, he performed and directed students appearing in Yale Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s production of H.M.S. Pinafore.

He is a talented actor with four ‘Emmy Awards’ in his hands. In the 1980s, After graduating, Pierce relocated to New York City where he was employed in various jobs side by side completing his acting career and studying at ‘Michael Howard Studios.’ In Norman Lear’s political comedy “The Powers That Be,” Pierce portrayed Theodore, a congressman, between the years of 1990 and 2000. He was also seen in Jodie Foster in “Little Man Tate,” with Anthony Hopkins in Oliver Stone’s Nixon.
