Early Life

Cree Summer Spent her childhood in Saskatchewan, Canada. Canadian actor and musician Don Francks and Lili Clark, an African American honorary member of the Plains Cree First Nations, are her parents. Lili Clark is from North Richmond, California. Because her father didn’t want to raise his children in Hollywood, he made the decision to move the family to Saskatchewan, Canada, shortly after she was born. The family lived in a mud-built house in the Plains Cree Reserve, where life was initially difficult.

Cree went to Toronto school, but she didn’t like it. She was already making money as a cartoon voiceover artist when she was thirteen. She started public school in Toronto at the age of nine. Her brother Rainbow is an actor and a former MuchMusic VJ. She traveled and lived all over British Columbia during her childhood with her family.

Cree Summer is an Actress whose career took off in 1983 when she was given the role of Penny, Inspector Gadget’s niece, in the original animated series. She later attributes her ability to create characters using only her voice to spending a lot of time playing alone as a single child.
