The name was eventually altered to Starfish before being given the name Coldplay by another band that no longer wanted the moniker. Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2000, the band has gained recognition and success on a global level. When their song “Yellow,” from the album Parachutes, climbed at Number 4 on the charts, Coldplay became well-known.
