Omari Latif Hardwick was raised in Georgia Decatur, after being born in Savannah, Georgia, to Clifford Hardwick III and Joyce. His parents named him Omari Latif, which means “most high,” to establish a standard. Hardwick began regularly writing poetry when he reached fourteen; This excitement would follow him for the rest of his life. He played football at the University.
